Someva Renewables and Mainstream Renewable Power have partnered to develop the proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm, combining their experience to deliver a world-class renewable energy project. This partnership brings together NSW-based Someva’s local experience and community-focused approach and planning knowledge, with Mainstream’s global expertise in large-scale renewable projects, including developing wind farms within softwood plantations.
As the lead developer for the proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm, Someva’s focus is on community engagement and ensuring the voices of local stakeholders are heard and integrated into the project’s development. This includes collaborating with neighbours, local residents, First Nations people, businesses, forest users, the Forestry Corporation of NSW, Bathurst and Lithgow Councils and other stakeholders. Someva will also manage the environmental and planning assessments and development approval processes through the NSW Government’s Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, with the development of a Scoping Report and the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
Mainstream will lead technical engagement with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and Transgrid to secure critical grid connection approvals, drawing on their extensive experience in similar projects globally. Mainstream will also optimise the design of the wind farm and provide support throughout the development processes.
Together, Someva and Mainstream are committed to making the proposed Sunny Corner Wind Farm a landmark project that delivers meaningful benefits for the local community and supports Australia’s transition to a sustainable future.
